Books

STING broken music
A beautifully written autobiography by the superstar singer. Sting recounts his childhood, his years as a schoolteacher and his journey leading up to the eve of his success with The Police. Now 50, Sting writes of the people and events, which helped to shape him and make him so determined to make it in the music world. He writes so eloquently you have to marvel that one person could be so extraordinarily talented.

Siddhartha, By Herman Hesse
Don't be fooled by the small book and quick read, this book leaves you full of thought for months to come. You are lead through a journey of self-discovery, and mindful meditation as you learn about the Hindu religion. It was easy for me to relate this story to Jesus Christ in the Christian world. This book can be applicable to all religions because the theme is universal.

Movies

LOVE ACTUALLY
This romantic comedy follows ten loosely connected relationships in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Hugh Grant plays a bachelor Prime Minister who falls for a potty mouthed assistant. Liam Neelson is a widower stepfather who helps his young stepson with lessons in love, while the funniest storyline involves Bill Nighy as an aging rock star trying to make a comeback with a Christmas remix of "Love is all around us." The movie is often hilarious while at the same time giving us insights into loneliness and grief. Cleverly written dialogue and sexy moments make Love Actually a fun, fluffy holiday gift.

Elf
A hilarious Christmas movie starring Will Ferrell as the Elf, Ed Asner as Santa Claus and Bob Newhart as Will's foster father in Santa Land where Will was raised. Will's biological father is James Cann. You will laugh at all the antics that Will does in the movie as an Elf. I am a big softy for children's films and I cried at the end. There is much fun for the entire family in seeing this movie. It is a good Christmas movie in a classic sense and funny, funny, funny!!!
